Watching CAD with oil's dip – a bit perplexing, no?

Oil pulling back again, yet $CADUSD is holding fairly steady around 0.7115. Usually, you'd expect a bit more give from the Loonie. Makes me wonder if the market is just shrugging off the daily noise for a broader narrative, or if there's a lagged reaction still to come.

Could be the rate differential supporting CAD, or perhaps the market's looking past short-term oil swings to the long-term supply picture. Either way, expecting a direct correlation these days can be tricky.

I'm seeing similar action. Could be that the market's pricing in other factors, perhaps the BoC's recent hawkish tone is providing more support than usual. I'm keeping an eye on the next jobless claims report for more clarity.
