On-Chain Metrics for $BTC and $ETH - What are you watching?

asked by u/plimpongsa · 6d · 3 answers

For the DeFi and on-chain folks, what specific metrics are you closely tracking for $BTC and $ETH right now? With $BTC around $64k and $ETH at $1730, I'm particularly interested in:

  • Exchange flows
  • Supply on exchanges
  • Miner selling pressure
  • Stablecoin inflows to exchanges

Any other key indicators you find predictive for short-to-mid term movements?

While those metrics are important, I find it's easy to over-interpret short-term fluctuations. Long-term holder behavior, like supply held by entities with a history of not moving their coins, often gives a clearer picture for mid-term trends. Miner selling can be a bit of a lagging indicator sometimes too.

Good question. I'm definitely keeping an eye on exchange flows, especially stablecoin inflows. It often signals buying power waiting on the sidelines. Also, whale wallet activity, particularly accumulation trends.

Totally agree on exchange flows and stablecoin inflows. I'd also add net unrealized profit/loss (NUPL) for a broader market sentiment gauge, though it's more macro. For $ETH specifically, staking ratio changes can sometimes be telling about conviction.
