Onboarding Friction: KYC/AML for multi-jurisdictional setups
Anyone else finding the KYC/AML process an increasingly significant bottleneck for new broker or PSP relationships, especially when dealing with entities registered in multiple jurisdictions? We're looking at expanding our prop desk operations into a new region, and the amount of redundant paperwork, the inconsistent standards across different providers, and the sheer time involved in validating beneficial ownership for complex corporate structures is becoming a real drag.
It feels like every new relationship requires us to re-submit identical documentation, often in slightly different formats, leading to significant delays in activating accounts and accessing liquidity. We understand the regulatory necessity, but there has to be a more streamlined approach for established, regulated entities. Curious if others have found effective ways to mitigate this friction, perhaps through specific service providers or internal process optimizations. It’s chewing up valuable ops time that could be deployed elsewhere.
