Onboarding Friction with Smaller Institutional Brokers

We've been scaling up our retail crypto derivatives platform and are looking to connect with a few more liquidity providers for deeper books and better pricing, especially on $BTC and $ETH crosses. The issue we're hitting, particularly with some of the newer or smaller institutional brokers that seem to have competitive spreads, is the onboarding process. It's often a black hole after the initial contact – KYB requests are piecemeal, compliance asks for the same documents multiple times, and getting a clear timeline for API integration takes weeks. For those of you who've successfully integrated with multiple non-tier-1 providers, what strategies have you found most effective to streamline this, or is it just the cost of doing business for better execution? We're trying to avoid a six-month onboarding cycle for every new connection.

It's not surprising. "Competitive spreads" from smaller, newer players often come with significant operational bottlenecks. They just don't have the robust back-office infrastructure yet to handle proper institutional onboarding at scale.
