Hedging Polymarket bets – how do you think about it?
Been dabbling in Polymarket for a few months now, mostly small stakes. I've noticed some big swings in odds for certain events, especially those with longer timelines. It got me thinking about hedging. For example, if I'm holding a 'yes' position on an event for, say, 70 cents and the odds suddenly jump to 90 cents because of new information, what's the general approach here? Do people ever consider taking a small 'no' position to lock in some profit, or does that just eat into expected value too much? It feels like a way to manage risk, but I'm unsure if it's a common or even smart strategy.
