Onboarding friction with new payment rails – how much is too much?

Starting to look into a few new payout options for some international clients, specifically targeting emerging markets where traditional SWIFT routes are slow and expensive. The KYC/KYB on these smaller, regional providers feels like a trip back to the early 2000s; I'm weighing whether the reduced fees and faster settlement are worth the onboarding headache or if I should just swallow the existing costs for simpler compliance.

That's a classic dilemma. Have you tried calculating a rough ROI for the time spent onboarding versus the potential savings and improved client satisfaction? Sometimes putting a number to the headache helps clarify the decision.

It's a tough call. We've found that the long-term benefits of reduced fees and faster settlement often outweigh the initial onboarding friction, especially for high-volume corridors. Have you tried negotiating the KYC requirements with any of these providers?

I hear you on the KYC/KYB pain. It's a real trade-off. Have you looked at the volume of transactions you'd be putting through these new rails? Might help justify the upfront hassle if it's substantial.
