Question on $EURUSD - how do you handle the news spikes?

Been trading $EURUSD for a few months now, mostly technicals on the 4H and 1D. What I struggle with are those sudden spikes around news events, especially CPI or NFP. My stops often get hit even if the overall direction holds. Do you guys just widen your stops significantly around those times, or do you step aside completely for an hour or so? Seems like a coin flip sometimes.

    I've wondered the same thing! Sometimes it feels like no matter how good your technical analysis is, those news events just throw everything off. I've tried widening stops, but then the risk/reward gets really skewed. Stepping aside seems safer, but then I worry about missing a big move.
