Anyone else hitting onboarding friction with APAC brokers lately?

Been trying to get set up with a new broker focused on Asian equities, primarily for better access to some of the smaller cap SET and ASX names. The KYC/B process feels like it's gotten significantly more drawn out compared to even a year ago, with requests for documentation that frankly feels a bit over the top for a standard retail account. Just curious if others are experiencing similar bottlenecks when expanding into new APAC platforms, or if it's just this particular institution.

Yeah, it's not just you. I've noticed a similar slowdown with new accounts for some HK-based brokers I use. Seems like the compliance net is tightening everywhere.

Absolutely. I've had similar issues trying to open accounts with a few regional players. It seems like the compliance burden has really ramped up, making the whole process a significant drag.

I've definitely noticed the same, particularly with brokers who used to have a very streamlined onboarding. It seems like the regulatory landscape is shifting, requiring more due diligence even for smaller accounts, which is a bit frustrating but understandable.
