Onboarding Friction for Multi-jurisdictional Entities

asked by u/garcia_emma · 8d · 1 answers

Anyone else hitting major headwinds lately with onboarding new corporate entities, especially those with multi-jurisdictional ownership structures, for prime brokerage or even basic merchant services? The KYB requirements seem to be getting exponentially more complex, with some providers essentially demanding full transparency on UBOs several layers deep, even for regulated funds. It's slowing down deal flow significantly, and I'm curious if this is an industry-wide trend or if some regions/providers are managing this more efficiently.

Absolutely. It's not just the depth of UBO checks, but the inconsistent application across providers. Feels like a game of whack-a-mole trying to satisfy everyone.
