Cross-border KYC for small-scale fintechs – what's realistic?
We're a small payment processing startup, primarily focused on $EURUSD transactions for B2B. As we look to expand into LatAm, the sheer complexity of local KYC/KYB requirements is daunting. We're talking Brazil, Mexico, Colombia – each with its own quirks and compliance burden. Is there a point where it becomes unfeasible for smaller players to build out robust, localized KYC without significant capital? Are we missing a trick with some of these vendors, or is this just the cost of doing business in fragmented regulatory landscapes? Seems like a major barrier to entry for anyone not well-funded.
