Onboarding Friction for PSPs in APAC Markets

asked by u/sanjay_s · 18d · 2 answers

We've been expanding our PSP offerings into Southeast Asia, and the variability in Know Your Business (KYB) requirements across different jurisdictions is proving to be a real bottleneck. It's not just the amount of documentation, but the lack of standardization in how quickly it's processed and the differing interpretations of compliance. Anyone else finding this to be a major drag on rollout timelines, especially when integrating with local banking partners?

Absolutely, this is a huge pain point. We've found that setting up local teams with specific expertise in each market's regulatory nuances is almost unavoidable, but it adds a significant overhead. Are you seeing any particular markets that are more challenging than others?

Yeah, it's a mess. We've largely given up on a 'one size fits all' approach and just budget more time and resources for each new country. Trying to streamline KYB across APAC seems like a fool's errand right now.
