Does the 'digital nomad' banking trend truly hold up for serious capital?

Been seeing a lot of chatter lately, even here sometimes, about how easy it is to manage significant wealth across borders with just a phone and a few apps. You hear about these 'digital nomad banks' or fintechs offering multi-currency accounts and debit cards, but I'm curious if anyone here with actual experience moving larger sums around for business or substantial investments finds them genuinely robust. For day-to-day spending or small transfers, sure, but when we're talking about compliance, bespoke services, or even just the peace of mind that comes with a traditional, albeit pricier, offshore banking relationship, I can't shake the feeling these newer solutions are a bit overhyped for anything beyond mid-tier needs. Convince me I'm wrong.

For serious capital, I'd still lean towards established private banking relationships. While fintechs are great for daily spend, their limits and regulatory scope might be a bottleneck for multi-million dollar transfers or complex investment structures.
