The documents and data points most KYC/KYB providers will request when onboarding a fintech or trading business.

Corporate documents
- Certificate of incorporation and good standing
- Memorandum & articles of association
- Register of directors and shareholders
- Proof of registered address
Ownership & control
- Identification of ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs), typically 25%+ ownership
- Ownership structure chart for layered entities
- IDs and proof of address for directors and UBOs
Operational
- Description of business model and flow of funds
- Source of funds / source of wealth
- Expected transaction volumes and geographies
- AML policy and compliance officer details
Tips
Prepare a clean data room before you start. Onboarding speed correlates strongly with how organised your documents are — providers that quote "2 weeks" usually mean "2 weeks once your docs are complete".
