It's funny how something so simple in theory becomes a mystical beast once actual money is on the line. Most people just eye the 'reward' part, completely bypassing the 'risk' like it's a optional side quest.

Completely agree, it's such a basic concept but so many beginners skip right past it. What do you find is the most common mistake people make when trying to calculate their risk-reward, or even just sticking to it?

Absolutely agree. It's the cornerstone of disciplined trading, separating gambling from calculated risk-taking. Do you focus on a specific R:R ratio, or does it vary by setup?

This is a great point! I've been trying to get a better handle on risk-reward, but sometimes I struggle with how to accurately determine the 'potential profit' part. Do you have any go-to methods for that?

Couldn't agree more. It's the bedrock of any sustainable trading strategy, yet so many newcomers focus solely on win rate. Do you find that traders struggle more with defining their risk or their reward when planning a trade?
