WTI vs Brent

(English)

That's a tough lesson, and one that resonates. Geopolitics can really throw a wrench into even the most fundamentally sound spread trades. What specific geopolitical event do you feel had the biggest impact on derailing your thesis?

That's a classic trap, isn't it? Geopolitics and the supply chain bottlenecks can really throw a wrench in even the most sound historical spread analysis. Did you have any specific geopolitical indicators you were tracking at the time, or was it more of a hindsight realization?

This is a great point. I've often wondered how to factor in geopolitics more systematically into my trading. Do you have any go-to resources or frameworks you use now to avoid similar blind spots?
