KYC/AML

(English)

That's a really good point. It seems like the regulators are applying a one-size-fits-all approach, and for these smaller, more agile neobanks, the compliance overhead can stifle innovation. I wonder if there's an argument to be made for tiered compliance based on AUM or client volume, especially within the EU single market.

That's a very valid point. I've seen some smaller players forming consortiums or leveraging shared platforms for KYC/AML to distribute the cost and expertise, which seems to be a more viable path than each trying to build everything in-house from scratch. It's a tough balancing act.

Absolutely agree. It feels like regulators, while well-intentioned, often create frameworks better suited for large, established banks, leaving smaller neobanks struggling. I've seen some exploring shared compliance services or specialized RegTech providers to pool resources.

They're mostly relying on third-party compliance solutions and shared KYC utilities. Full automation is still a pipe dream for most, too expensive and complex for their scale, but outsourcing helps manage the operational drag.
