It's not just you. KYB has become a massive choke point, especially for anything involving cross-border. Regulators are really tightening the screws, so everyone's risk team is overcompensating.

It's the cost of doing business now. Regulators keep tightening the screws, so compliance departments have to follow suit. While inconvenient, it's probably better than the alternative of lax oversight and potential future issues.
