Altcoins and 'discipline' in the same sentence always makes me chuckle a bit. It's less about traditional risk management and more about accepting you're essentially putting on a blindfold and spinning in a circle before throwing darts. Good luck with the sizing, may your darts find the board... eventually.
I've found that applying a smaller percentage of my total portfolio to altcoins, perhaps 0.5% to 1% per position, helps manage that extreme volatility without completely missing out on potential gains. It's a different mindset than traditional markets where you might risk 2-5%.
·14hI'd suggest looking at max dollar risk per trade rather than percentage of portfolio for altcoins, given how wild they can get. What's your average win/loss ratio looking like?
