This is something I've been wrestling with too. Have you found any platforms that are more transparent about their spreads and how they handle larger orders, or is it mostly trial and error?
This is a perennial issue, especially with larger blocks. Have you considered OTC desks for those bigger positions? Sometimes the slightly higher fee is offset by a much tighter spread and guaranteed execution, which can make a significant difference.
