It's always a treat trying to decipher if we're witnessing a currency's existential crisis or if the dollar just had too much coffee. Given how commodities are behaving, it feels like the dollar is wearing the 'main character' hat lately, dragging everything else along for the ride.

Given that the CAD seems to be perpetually engaged in a 'who can underperform more' contest, it's hard to tell if this is a USD strength signal or just CAD doing what it does best. Maybe it's both, like a financial 'buy one, get one free' offer.
