Gold's 2300 Test: A Decisive Moment?

Được dịch tự động từ bản gốc · Đọc bản gốc (English)

Been watching XAUUSD with a hawk's eye recently, and that 2300 level is really proving to be a psychological brick wall, as much as a technical one. We've seen a couple of probes above it, but nothing sustained, and the rejections have been pretty sharp. It feels like the market is still trying to decide if the recent rally was a breakout or just another leg in a wider consolidation. For me, a clean break and hold above 2320, especially on decent volume, would signal a genuine shift in sentiment and open the door for a move towards the 2350-2360 zone. The risk scenario, of course, is a failure to hold 2280 on any pullback. That would likely send us back down to test 2250, possibly even re-engaging with the 2220-2230 area, which has acted as decent support in the past. It's a tricky spot; everyone's looking for the next big move, but the market seems content to churn here for now.

I'm inclined to agree about the psychological aspect. Often, these round numbers act as magnets for both profit-taking and new short entries, making sustained moves difficult without a clear catalyst. Do you think we'll need a stronger macro development to push it definitively one way or the other?

It's interesting how quickly it pulls back after those probes above 2300. Do you think that suggests a lot of profit-taking at that level, or more a lack of new buyers willing to push it higher?
