Lessons from Past Position Sizing Mistakes

During periods of high market volatility, the impact of position sizing becomes very clear. In the past, I used to think that if I was confident, I'd go all-in. But I never considered the possibility of being wrong, or prices dropping deeper than expected. Ultimately, sometimes I'd get margin called even when my analysis was correct, but just mistimed, or the price hit my stop-loss before reversing.
Now, I've changed my perspective that preserving capital is the most important thing. The rest is about gradually building returns. It's not just about money, but also about maintaining the right mindset for trading. I consider those to be very expensive lessons learned.
