Lessons from USDC Stuck in a Cross-Chain Bridge

Late last year, I tried using a cross-chain bridge to transfer $USDC from Polygon back to Ethereum. The problem was it wasn't a major bridge, and the liquidity was insufficient, causing my $USDC to be stuck there for a week. The amount wasn't huge at the time, but it really highlighted that for serious use of Stablecoins for payments or inter-chain transfers, the bridge or On/Off-ramp channel is extremely important. You need to choose one with high liquidity and genuine acceptance, not just rush to use one because the fees are cheap. Otherwise, you might end up with your assets stuck, or pay more in Gas Fees to withdraw them than they're worth, resulting in wasted time and money instead of benefiting from the speed of Stablecoins.
