Concerns about the strengthening Baht and its impact on export stocks

แปลอัตโนมัติจากต้นฉบับ · อ่านต้นฉบับ (English)

Lately, I've noticed the Thai Baht starting to strengthen again after being weak for a long time. When I compare it to other currencies like $USDCAD, which is moving at 1.40185, or $USDZAR at 16.5438, it makes me wonder how much our export stock group will be affected next quarter.

Normally, if the Baht strengthens, this group of stocks would face pressure on their revenue, right? Or has the market already priced this in somewhat, so it might not drop as much as initially thought? I'd like to hear perspectives from everyone here, if anyone is monitoring this, and which groups might be particularly affected, or if there are any groups that could potentially outperform against the trend.

It's a good point about the baht strengthening. I'm new to this, but I'm curious if companies with strong hedging strategies might be less affected than others? Or does a strong baht just impact everyone in exports eventually?

That's a valid concern. While a stronger baht typically pressures exporter revenues, it's worth considering the specifics of each company's hedging strategies and their proportion of costs in local currency versus revenue in foreign currency. It's not always a straightforward one-to-one impact across the board.
