Thoughts on Thai Stock P/E Ratios Lately

แปลอัตโนมัติจากต้นฉบับ · อ่านต้นฉบับ (English)

Lately, I've noticed many stocks in the SET market with P/E ratios that seem not too expensive compared to the past, or when compared to some groups of international stocks like certain Tech Giants in $QQQ that are still performing well, such as $AMD which was up over 6% today. However, when looking at Thai stocks with low P/E ratios, many seem to have specific factors weighing them down, or some with good fundamentals still have high P/E ratios. So, I wanted to open a discussion: What are your views on Thai stock P/E ratios these days? Should we focus solely on P/E, or consider Growth prospects alongside it in this kind of market?

Comparing Thai P/E ratios to US tech giants might be an apples-to-oranges situation given different growth prospects and market dynamics. Localized pressures on Thai stocks with low P/E seem like the more pertinent factor to analyze.

It's true that headline P/E figures can be misleading. Often, a low P/E in the Thai market is a red flag for underlying issues, not a bargain. And for the 'good' companies, the high P/E implies growth that might not materialize.
