Question about liquidity providers and brokers

I've just started trading seriously, so I'd like to ask those with more experience: how can we tell if the broker we're using has a strong and truly reliable liquidity provider? Sometimes when I experience severe slippage or delayed withdrawal requests, I start to wonder. I'd appreciate advice on how to check or what factors to consider, beyond just the usual spread. Sometimes the website looks great, but the actual execution is a completely different story.
