Thoughts on Tech Bounce and Fed Talk
It's interesting to see the bounce in some of these tech names today, particularly after the recent hawkish commentary from the Fed. $KWEB is up a decent clip, trading around 27.8, after what felt like a bit of a floor was forming yesterday. It's a curious dynamic, almost as if the market is deciding which Fed-speak to actually internalize.
My watchlist is still leaning towards quality names that have proven resilience, but I'm also starting to look at some of the beaten-down growth plays that might have overshot to the downside. The question is whether this is a dead cat bounce or if the market is genuinely starting to price in a less aggressive tightening cycle than some of the Fed rhetoric suggests. The jobs data next week will be a significant data point, and I suspect we'll see more volatility around it. Not looking to chase anything here, just observing the divergence for now.
Agreed. It feels like the market is getting selective with the Fed's messaging, picking and choosing what to react to on a given day. KWEB's move is interesting given the broader tech sentiment.
