$Y - Potential Double Top or Bull Flag Continuation?
Been watching $Y closely these past few sessions, and there's a fascinating setup unfolding that's got me scratching my head a bit. On the daily chart, we're seeing what could be interpreted as a developing double top around that 847-848 range. The 847.79 resistance today, after a previous touch there, definitely makes you wonder if momentum is stalling out. A clear break and close below the neckline, which I'd place around 840, would certainly confirm that bearish scenario for me, potentially targeting the low 800s.
However, the flip side of that coin is just as compelling. Given the overall upward trend $Y has been in, this consolidation could also easily be forming a bull flag. The current tight range between 847.62 and 847.9 today, after a healthy run, suggests accumulation rather than outright distribution to some eyes. If it were to break decisively above that 848 level with conviction, then the bull flag would be the more likely pattern, suggesting a continuation of the upward move. The risk here, of course, is that a failure to push past 848.00 and a subsequent break below 840 invalidates the bullish flag scenario entirely, pivoting back to the double top. It's a key juncture, and I'm leaning towards observing for now.
