Thoughts on rate hikes impact on offshore digital banking landscape

It's interesting to watch how the continuous drumbeat of potential rate hikes, even small ones, might reshape the offshore digital banking sector. With yields slowly creeping up in more conventional, onshore accounts, does it start to erode some of the appeal of offshore solutions, especially for smaller balances, where the administrative overhead might become proportionally higher? I'm not talking about the larger corporate structures or those seeking specific jurisdictional advantages, but more the individual or small business looking for diversification or easier multi-currency management. Does this push providers to innovate even faster on features, or will we see a shake-out among some of the smaller players who can't compete on cost or rates? Keeps $X 54.84 on my watchlist to see if any of these macro shifts start showing up in the related fintechs.

Higher rates certainly shift the calculus for parking cash. For smaller balances, the administrative burden of offshore accounts might indeed outweigh the benefits if onshore yields become competitive enough to cover the convenience factor. Always a trade-off between perceived safety, accessibility, and return.
