KYC Automation for high-volume, low-value transactions

Curious if anyone has found effective KYC automation solutions for platforms processing a large number of relatively small-value transactions. The cost per check can quickly erode margins, yet the regulatory burden doesn't lessen. Are there any emerging tech or services finding that sweet spot?
