KYB for non-US entities in a US-focused platform

We're building out a new platform primarily targeting US customers, but we've seen a surprising amount of inbound interest from EU and APAC businesses wanting to onboard for specific services. The challenge isn't just the additional regulatory overhead of servicing these regions, but more specifically, running robust KYB on entities incorporated in jurisdictions where data access for beneficial ownership and corporate registries is significantly more opaque or fragmented compared to the US. We're weighing the cost/benefit of integrating multiple local data providers versus trying to standardize on a single global vendor with varying degrees of coverage. Has anyone tackled this head-on and found a pragmatic approach that balances compliance risk with operational efficiency for a lean fintech operation? The fear is over-investing in complex compliance for a segment that might not scale as quickly as domestic.

That's a common issue. You'll likely need to partner with a specialized KYB provider that has expertise and data sources in those regions, or restrict your services to US entities for now.
