Thoughts on MATIC's resistance at $0.30 by month-end
Interesting price action on $MATIC today, bouncing nicely off the lows and currently sitting around $0.2826. We've seen it flirt with the $0.30 level several times over the past couple of weeks, but it consistently gets rejected. It feels like there's a strong sell wall there, or at least a lot of profit-taking from those who bought the dip closer to the $0.25 range.
Looking at the broader crypto market sentiment and some of the recent news flow around Polygon's partnerships, I'm leaning towards not seeing a sustained break above $0.30 by the end of the month. My current read gives it about a 35% chance of closing above $0.30 on August 31st. The momentum is there for a push, certainly, and today's move towards $0.28664 shows some buyers stepping in. However, the macro headwinds are still pretty strong, and I think that $0.30 will continue to act as a significant psychological and technical resistance point. If we do see a strong catalyst or a general market surge, then sure, those odds change, but for now, it feels like it's range-bound just below that key level.
The $0.30 level has been a sticking point for a while. I'm wondering if the broader market sentiment will even allow for a decisive break above it, given the current environment.
