New here - how do you all approach trade review for patterns?
Hey everyone, just joined up. Been trying to get more consistent with my trading lately, mostly focused on $ES_F and $NQ_F. I've got a decent grasp on technicals and generally stick to my setup criteria, but my biggest hurdle is post-trade analysis beyond just 'win/loss'.
I'm trying to identify repeatable patterns in my own execution, like specific market conditions where I tend to do well or poorly, or even emotional triggers that lead to mistakes. I've heard people talk about 'journaling' but it often sounds like just logging entries and exits. For those of you who have been doing this for a while, what's your practical approach to reviewing your trades to actually find these deeper, behavioral or pattern-based insights? Are there specific questions you ask yourself, or metrics you track that aren't just P&L related?
For trade review, consider tracking factors beyond just market conditions, like your emotional state before and during the trade. Sometimes the 'pattern' is more about your internal state than the charts.
