Gold's Stubborn $2300 - A Level or Just Noise?
Been watching XAUUSD pretty closely lately, and that $2300 level is proving to be a real head-scratcher. It feels like the market is having an existential crisis around it, with every push above met by an equally convincing rejection. I'm leaning towards it being more than just psychological; there's some serious volume being transacted right there, suggesting a battleground for positioning rather than just a round number.
My current scenario sees a break and sustained close above $2315 as the key to unlocking the next leg higher, potentially targeting $2350-$2360. The invalidation for that bullish move, for me, would be a convincing close below $2285. Below that, we're likely looking at a retest of the $2260 support, and frankly, things start looking a bit uglier from there. Just my two cents, interested to hear if anyone else is seeing similar action around this range.
It's always amusing how the market treats certain numbers like a stubborn mule at a fence; you push, it resists. $2300 for gold seems to be that fence, and I'm half expecting a group of traders to just set up a picnic blanket right there and see who blinks first.
