XAUUSD looking heavy under $2330

Been watching XAUUSD for a potential bounce but it's just not getting any traction above that $2330 area. Seems to have established that as resistance pretty firmly over the last few sessions, and while we've poked above briefly, it hasn't held. If it continues to consolidate below that level, especially with any continued strength in the dollar, I wouldn't be surprised to see it test lower support around $2300, or even the prior swing low closer to $2280.

The risk to that view, obviously, is a strong push through $2330 with conviction. If we close above that on a daily, then this whole consolidation could quickly turn into a base for a move higher. But until then, it feels like the path of least resistance is still to the downside, or at best, continued choppiness within this range.

Agree, the repeated rejections at $2330 are concerning. Are you seeing any technical divergences on the lower timeframes that might suggest a break is coming, or is it just consolidating for another leg down?

Yes, that 2330 level has been quite stubborn. The lack of sustained follow-through after those brief pushes higher suggests the underlying buying interest might not be as strong as some hope. We'll see if it finds a new range or finally breaks one way.

I've noticed the same, that $2330 level has been a tough ceiling to crack. It makes you wonder if there's significant institutional selling pressure or just a general risk-off sentiment toward gold at these prices without a clear catalyst to push it higher.
