Watching XAUUSD around $1940 - $1950

Hey everyone,

Been keeping a close eye on XAUUSD recently, and I'm seeing a pretty interesting setup around the $1940-$1950 area. We've had a decent rally, but this zone has acted as some pretty strong resistance in the past. If we look back, it's where a couple of significant moves have been rejected, and it also lines up with a key Fibonacci retracement level from the previous swing high. I'm thinking we could see some selling pressure step in if we manage to push up into that range again. The general macro picture, with the dollar showing a bit of strength at 92.56, also suggests gold might struggle to break out convincingly just yet.

Of course, the invalidate for this scenario would be a clear break above $1955 on a daily close. If we get a strong candle pushing and holding above that, it would suggest the bulls are firmly in control and this old resistance has become new support. Anything could happen though; we saw how quickly things can pivot. Just my two cents on what I'm watching. Curious if anyone else is seeing similar things or has a different read?

While 1940-1950 has been a pivot point, the current momentum looks strong. Are you accounting for the recent economic data shifts that might be underpinning this rally, or just focusing on the technicals?

I'm with you on that. It's definitely a pivotal area for XAUUSD, and I've got alerts set up around there. Do you have a specific candle formation or price action you're looking for to confirm a move either way?

That range looks like a decent area for a potential short, but the recent price action has been pretty strong. Are you seeing enough exhaustion to justify a reversal call, or are you waiting for more confirmation?
