Is EURUSD really just a sentiment game now?
Been looking at EURUSD lately and feeling like the traditional technicals are getting less reliable. I mean, we're seeing these massive swings, often triggered by what feels like pure sentiment shifts or minor news events that used to barely register. It's almost like the market's just bouncing between extreme optimism and pessimism, with volume concentrated on the edges. I know everyone preaches price action and supply/demand, but even those patterns seem to break down pretty quickly when there's a strong narrative taking hold. Take the recent $CADCHF move for instance; it feels like even that pair, which used to be more predictable with its range, is getting a bit choppier around 0.57760. Is anyone else starting to wonder if the game has fundamentally changed, and we're less about 'edge' and more about just riding the momentum until it snaps back? Change my mind.
It's always been somewhat of a sentiment game, especially with larger pairs. The issue might be that the 'minor news events' are now amplified by algorithmic trading, making them appear more significant than they perhaps are fundamental-wise.
