DAX breakouts vs. follow-through this year - what's the consensus on entries?

Hey everyone, still finding my feet with European markets. I've been watching the DAX, and it feels like every time we get a decent breakout above a resistance level, the follow-through just isn't there, or it's short-lived before retracing pretty significantly. I'm struggling with conviction on entries after these initial pushes. Are others finding this a consistent theme with $DAX this year, and if so, how are you adjusting your entry strategies, or perhaps your position sizing, to account for the choppiness?

It's not just the DAX; a lot of indices are showing similar behavior with failed breakouts. I've found waiting for a clear retest of the broken level, and seeing if it holds as support, is often a better entry than chasing the initial push.

The DAX has certainly been challenging. Many breakouts have indeed been met with quick reversals, making it difficult to hold for any real extension. It's a theme I've observed across several European indices, not just the DAX.
