Lesson Learned: Chasing the Next Big DeFi Thing

Been reflecting on a costly mistake from last year, chasing the next big thing in DeFi. Remember when everyone was talking about a particular new liquidity protocol offering insane APYs? I aped in with a substantial chunk, lured by the promise of quick returns, without doing enough due diligence on the underlying code or the team.

Sure enough, the APY dried up within weeks, the token price collapsed, and I was left holding a bag worth a fraction of my initial investment. The real lesson wasn't just the monetary loss, but the realization that FOMO is still a powerful force, even for those of us who've been around the block a few times. Sticking to established protocols with proven track records, or at least smaller bets on newer ones after extensive research, is the only sustainable way to navigate this space. That quick buck mentality nearly always bites back.
