Onboarding & liquidity for institutional DeFi access – still a bottleneck?

Been thinking a lot lately about the friction points for larger capital, not just retail, to effectively engage with DeFi protocols. Beyond the smart contract risk, which is a whole other beast, the actual infrastructure layer feels surprisingly underdeveloped for institutional players.

Specifically, I'm curious about others' experiences with onboarding to various institutional-grade DeFi platforms or even just sophisticated CeFi bridges that aim to provide better access. KYB processes are understandable, but the variability in their execution, sometimes taking weeks, can completely nullify a time-sensitive yield opportunity. And then there's the liquidity piece – how are others managing slippage when trying to put significant capital to work in some of these nascent, albeit promising, protocols? Finding reliable on/off-ramps for non-trivial sums, especially moving between traditional finance and DeFi, still feels like a fragmented landscape. It's not just about the best APY; it's about the practical ability to get in and out efficiently and cost-effectively without unnecessary headaches. Is this still the primary bottleneck for broader institutional adoption in DeFi, or are there other pressing infrastructure concerns I'm overlooking?
