Is the DeFi narrative losing steam, or just maturing?

Been watching the DeFi space pretty closely these past few months, and I'm starting to wonder if the whole 'yield farming' and 'permissionless finance will disrupt everything' narrative is losing some of its potency. It feels like the air has gone out of the balloon a bit, especially when you see some of the blue-chips like $COMP trading down at $10.73, while traditional market plays like $DKNG are having a solid day at $22.97.

Don't get me wrong, the underlying tech is still fascinating, and the potential is huge. But are we seeing a natural maturation, where the initial hype settles and real use cases have to fight harder for adoption? Or is it something more fundamental, perhaps a shift in risk appetite away from the more experimental corners of crypto? I'd genuinely like to hear where others stand on this. Push back if you think I'm off base.

I think it's more of a maturation. The hype cycles are shortening, and projects are now focused on building sustainable ecosystems rather than just chasing the next yield farm. The market is weeding out the less robust projects.
