The enduring appeal of yield farming despite the risks

It's interesting to observe the persistent allure of various yield farming protocols, even as the broader market remains somewhat uncertain. We saw $BTC dip below 60k again recently, yet many are still chasing those triple-digit APYs in the DeFi space. I can't help but wonder if the perceived simplicity of 'set it and forget it' yield strategies overshadows the underlying smart contract risks and impermanent loss for many. Are we truly valuing the decentralization aspect, or is it mostly about the promise of outsized returns compared to traditional markets? $TSLA at 375.76 or $GOOGL at 349.28 just don't offer that kind of upside, but their risks are certainly different. Convince me I'm wrong about the risk/reward calculus here.
