Onboarding Friction for EU Entity with Non-EU Brokerages

Anyone else finding the KYC/KYB process for an EU-registered entity, particularly when dealing with brokers domiciled outside the EU, increasingly cumbersome? We've recently been trying to diversify our prime brokerage relationships, and the amount of redundant documentation, along with the varying interpretations of UBO structures and source of funds, has become a significant bottleneck. It feels like every jurisdiction has its own flavor of 'enhanced due diligence' that adds weeks to what should be a relatively straightforward setup.

We're dealing with entities that have clear regulatory oversight here in Europe, yet the perception from some non-EU providers seems to be one of perpetual suspicion. This isn't just about initial onboarding either; ongoing reviews often trigger similar requests. It starts to erode any potential benefit from competitive spreads or niche liquidity if the operational overhead of simply using the service outweighs it. Interested to hear if others are navigating similar frustrations, or if we're just hitting a particularly slow patch with a few specific institutions.

It's not just you. The non-EU brokers are often playing catch-up with the latest EU regulations, or just applying their strictest global standard to everyone, which creates a mess. Have you found any particular regions or types of brokers better than others?

It's not just you. The lack of standardization in how different jurisdictions interpret compliance requirements makes it a constant uphill battle, especially with complex ownership structures. Have you found any non-EU brokers that seem to have a more streamlined process, or are they all equally difficult?
