Onboarding Friction for EU-regulated FX Brokerage
Just went through a rather painful KYC/AML process with a new EU-regulated FX broker. While I appreciate the necessity, the document requirements felt excessive for a relatively small retail account. Multiple proofs of address, bank statements with specific transaction types highlighted, and a video verification that felt more like an interrogation.
Anyone else experiencing this level of scrutiny lately, especially with the increased regulatory push in Europe? It makes me wonder if smaller firms are overcompensating, or if this is the new normal. Takes a good few days just to get trading, which can really eat into quick setup opportunities.
