Onboarding Friction for OTC Desks and Prime Brokerage

Anyone else finding the onboarding process for new OTC liquidity providers or prime brokerage accounts increasingly painful? It seems the KYB requirements have ratcheted up considerably, pushing out the time to execute by weeks, sometimes months. It's especially frustrating when trying to diversify counterparty risk or capitalize on immediate market opportunities. Wondering if anyone has found efficiencies or best practices to expedite this without cutting corners on compliance.

The increased KYB is definitely a drag. It makes sense from a compliance perspective, but the operational impact on speed to market is significant. Have you explored any service providers that help streamline the documentation process, or is it still mostly in-house?

This is something I've been noticing as well. Are the increased KYB requirements mostly coming from a regulatory push, or are individual institutions just getting more cautious in general?

Absolutely. We've seen the same, particularly with smaller or newer firms trying to onboard with established primes. The regulatory landscape has shifted, and compliance departments are understandably more cautious. Have you found any particular providers more efficient in their onboarding process, or is it a universal slowdown?

Yeah, I've noticed this too, especially with some of the newer regulations. It feels like every step now requires three more forms. Has anyone found a specific type of provider that's more streamlined, or is it just universally slow right now?
