Lesson Learned: Not respecting the stop-loss on an $ETH trade
My biggest mistake last year wasn't a bad entry, but a failure to respect my own stop-loss on an $ETH position. I had a clear level in mind, but when price hit it, I talked myself into moving it, convincing myself it was just a shakeout. That initial move ended up being the start of a much deeper correction, and what should have been a small, manageable loss turned into a significant hit to the portfolio. It was a painful reminder that your pre-defined risk is there for a reason, and once you start moving goalposts, discipline goes out the window.
