The lesson of 'just a little bit more' on $ETH

I've been thinking a lot lately about a period back in '21 when $ETH was really running. I had a decent chunk, had ridden it up pretty well, and was feeling good. My plan was to take profits at a certain level, maybe scale out slowly. But then it just kept going, pushing past what I thought was its ceiling. The noise got louder, everyone was talking about it hitting multiples of where it was. Instead of sticking to my plan, I decided to 'see if it had a little more left in it,' because, you know, this time it felt different. It didn't. The dip came, not catastrophic, but enough to take back a significant chunk of unrealized gains, and I ended up selling lower than my original target, purely out of frustration and the feeling of having been greedy. It was a clear case of not respecting my own strategy, getting swayed by the hype, and trying to squeeze out that extra few percent when the sensible move was to execute the original plan. Discipline, as always, is king. It's a hard lesson to re-learn, but an important one.
