Quick Take on Risk-Reward in Crypto Trading
Hey everyone, been diving deeper into structuring trades lately, and one concept that keeps coming up (for good reason) is risk-reward. For anyone who might be newer or just wants a refresher, it's essentially the ratio of how much you're risking on a trade versus how much you stand to gain.
Let's say you're looking at $ETHUSD around its current 1877.81 mark. If you decide to go long with a stop loss at 1860 (risking ~17.81 points) and your target is 1950 (aiming for ~72.19 points), your risk-reward ratio is roughly 1:4. This means for every dollar you risk, you stand to make four. The beauty of this is that you don't need to be right 100% of the time to be profitable. Even if you only win 30% of your trades with a 1:3 or 1:4 risk-reward, you can still come out ahead. It's a foundational piece for solid position sizing and managing drawdowns. Just something to keep in mind when planning entries and exits, especially with crypto's volatility.
