Cross-border KYC for small-scale fintechs

Seeing a lot of discussion around the complexities of unified KYC/KYB across multiple jurisdictions for larger institutions. But for smaller fintechs, especially those looking to scale internationally without the deep pockets for bespoke legal teams in every country, what's the practical advice for managing the varying data residency, consent, and identity verification requirements? Is there an emerging tech solution or a common strategy that balances compliance with operational efficiency?

It's less about deep pockets and more about smart partnerships. Look for a compliance-as-a-service provider that offers multi-jurisdictional KYC/KYB out of the box. Building it in-house is a fool's errand for a small outfit.

It's rarely as simple as finding a one-size-fits-all solution for compliance across borders, particularly for smaller entities. Often it comes down to strategically choosing initial markets based on regulatory similarity and then scaling incrementally, rather than trying to conquer all at once. What specific jurisdictions are causing the most headaches for data residency?

That's a very practical point. For smaller fintechs, leveraging RegTech solutions that offer multi-jurisdictional support and API-driven integration is often the most cost-effective path, rather than building out bespoke compliance frameworks in each market initially. Have you looked into any of those specifically?
