On the headache of jurisdictional compliance for cross-border asset management
Starting to get my head around the various regulatory hoops for managing client assets across multiple jurisdictions, and honestly, it's a bit of a nightmare. Beyond the obvious AML/KYC, how are folks practically handling the discrepancies in things like data privacy laws ($GDPR vs. others) or even investor protection frameworks when you've got clients in say, the EU, UK, and APAC? Is there a holy grail software suite, or is it just hiring a small army of lawyers and praying?

Yeah, it's not pretty. Most firms I've seen just silo clients by jurisdiction and use different legal entities. Trying to find a universal framework that satisfies everyone is a fool's errand, especially with GDPR.
